Hi, friend!
My name is Angelica Bakhos, and I love Jesus.
That’s really the gist of it.
But, for those curious minds who want to know more, I’m a 24-year old Catholic woman. I’m a Youth Ministry Director, early childhood/elementary school Theology teacher, middle school tutor, and full-time graduate student working on my master’s degree in Catechetics and Evangelization. I spend my days learning about Jesus and sharing Him with those around me, helping others come to know themselves, others, and the Lord.
I love cosmetology, journaling, spending time outside, taking walks with no destination, and eating pizza and blue, the best colored, M&Ms (but not together). I love the rain; my curls don’t, but I do. I’m really great at accidentally killing plants. I’m a crazy bird lady. I walk better in heels than I do in flats.
So… why am I here? Well, as I said before, I love Jesus. And with all the writing on religion that I’ve done in my life and all the ministry I’ve worked in, the one thing I haven’t done is write about my love for Jesus. I’ve known my entire life that my calling is to love and help others, but most recently realized that I have the calling to do it through evangelization. So if writing this blog is one way to bring a bit of brightness to your days, or at least give you something to think about, it’s another way I am able to do God’s will.
I do my best to bring Christ into my daily life, and honestly, it’s the most beautiful existence I could image. This of course does not mean my life is perfect; I fail… a lot. I live a very, super, sometimes disastrously messy life. But messes are okay. Great sometimes, actually. Messes can be beautiful.
But really, things don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.
I allow the Lord to mop up that mess, and He makes my (very, super, sometimes disastrously) messy life better. A lot better, actually. It’s quite beautiful. And I’ve grown to love the life He’s given me. So that’s what I am here to share: a beautifully messy life from a 24-year-old with a bit of wisdom and a lot of love, hope, friendship, and joy to share.
Thank you for being here.
